How to Capture Screenshot on PS4: A Step-by-Step Guide

Hi there! Do you want to record those incredible PS4 gaming moments? You’re in luck, though! Let me guide you through the Easy Steps to find out How to take Screenshot on your PS4 and How to Share them on X (formerly Twitter). Let’s get started!

How to Save a Screenshot to the PS4

This will save a picture to your PS4. It’s available to watch on the PlayStation 4 or to save on a USB drive.

  • Use the PlayStation 4 controller to find the Share Button. It’s to the left of the touchpad and above the left thumbstick.
  • Hold it and Press for one second. The PS4 will make an approval sound and show an icon for a camera on the left side of the screen.
  • To Get to the Library on your PlayStation 4, Go to the Home Screen Menu and swipe all the way to the right. Pick it out and open it.
  • The Library is set to sort by name, so the Capture Gallery will be close to the top of the list. Select it out and Open it.
  • At the very top of the All Folder will be the most current Screenshot. To find your picture, open the first folder on the list.
  • Finding an older picture, on the other hand, is easier if you go to the folder for the game where the Screenshot was taken. That way, you won’t have to look through screenshots from every game.
  • To see a Screenshot, you need to pick it and Open it. You can zoom in and out or make simple changes once it’s open.
  • You can look at a picture in the Capture Gallery, but you probably want to move it or send it to someone else.
  • First, pick out the picture in the Capture Gallery. Then, Press the Options Button on your PS4 controller. This brings up a choice on the right. Select Copy to USB storage device after making sure a USB storage device is plugged into a PlayStation 4 USB port.
  • There will now be marks next to the Screenshots, and the one you chose will already be checked. Click “OK.”
  • It will ask you where you want to Save the Picture, and then it will do so. Just click “Ok” and wait for the picture to be sent.
  • Once they are moved, pictures can be found in the PS4/SHARE/Pictures folder on the USB drive.

How to Share a Screenshot Directly to X

The Steps above show you the Fastest way to Take a Screenshot on PS4, but they don’t show you the fastest way to share a picture or move it to another device.

It’s often faster to Share a Screenshot to X and then save it to your computer or another device than to use the USB storage transfer way we talked about above.

  • On your PlayStation 4, Quickly Press the Share Button. Do not hold it. This will bring up the PlayStation 4’s Share menu on the screen’s left side.
  • Click on Screenshot, which is the second choice from the top.
  • You can also save it to the Capture Gallery by choosing Save Screenshot from the Share menu.
  • Now you can pick which social media site you want to share the picture on. X is the only social media site that works with pictures, so choose that one.
  • You can now add more information to your Tweet. Select Share when you’re done. You will soon see the Tweet on X, along with a picture.
