We have added three new ways to record calls on Android phones like Realme, Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo, iQOO, Xiaomi, and more without making a sound. In general, you can use the following ways if your phone has the Google Dialer app. Before you do that, though, read on to find out why Google says the call is being taped.
Why does Google Dialer warn you that calls may be recorded?
There are rules in some countries about recording and listening in on phone calls. Depending on where you live, you may need to get permission or let the other person know before you CallRecord. In some countries, it is illegal to record phone calls. For example, in some US states, both the caller and the listener must know that the call is being taped. In other areas, however, only one person must be told.
The Indian Telegraph Act 1885 says that only the Central or State Government can listen in on talks. There are legal steps that must be taken. The call recording tool in Google Dialer is legal, but some users would rather have a feature that records calls without letting the other person know. According to the law, the person who wants to record a call must tell the other person first. So, to make sure they don’t break the law, Google tells the other person that the call is being taped.
On OnePlus and Oppo phones, you can record calls without making an announcement.
There is an easy way to sideload the old ColorOS Dialer app on a OnePlus or Oppo phone. This app lets you Call Recod without making a sound. Here are the steps you need to take to use the stock ColorOS dialer and record calls on OnePlus and Oppo phones without getting a warning.
First, download ODialer for free and put it on your phone. This is the stock calling app that the ColorOS team gives you.
- Open the app and make it your preferred phone caller. Give all the rights that are asked for.
- That is all there is to it. Open the phone app ODialer, make a call, and then tap “Record.” Oppo and OnePlus phones will record the call without telling you or giving you a chance to say something. Go to the last part for a possible answer if it’s not working.
Vivo and iQOO phones can record calls without making a noise.
If you didn’t know, Vivo and iQOO phones come with a secret stock Phone app that lets you record calls without sounding the alarm. However, it’s turned off by default. But there’s a cool trick you can use to make it work like the Google Dialer app. This is how you do it.
Let’s say you have a Vivo or iQOO phone and want to record talks without any sound. Open the Google Dialer app on your phone and type in the code below. With this secret USSD code, you can use a different phone app instead of the stock Google Dialer. The code doesn’t work on all Vivo phones. Go to the next part if that’s the case.

- This will take you to the “Alternate Phone and Contacts” page, which is secret. Now, enable the toggle and tap on “OK,” followed by “Set now”.
- Now, use the new Phone app to make a call. Finally, press “Record.” The call will be saved without the other person being aware of it. If this method doesn’t work for you, keep reading for another one that does.
Turn off the Google Dialer call recording alert for Realme, Xiaomi, Moto, and other Android Phones.
There is a cool way to get around this if you have a Realme or Xiaomi smartphone and want to record calls without the other person knowing. If your Android phone comes with the Google Dialer app, you can also use this way. If none of the above worked for you, try the steps below to stop Android phones from recording announcements when calls are made.
You should first go to the Play Store and look for “Google Dialer.” Now open it up and press “Uninstall.” This will get rid of the most recent version of the app and put it back to the version that came with your device. We are doing this because Google fixed this bug in the most recent version.

Make sure you uncheck the box next to “Enable auto-update” when you go to the three-dot menu in the upper right area. This will stop Google Dialer from automatically getting the newest version. Make sure that Google Dialer is always on the older version for this method to work.
After that, get the TTSLexx app from the Play Store (it’s free). You can make and use your own dictionary for Google’s Text-to-Speech service with this free app. The message can’t be turned off in the Google Dialer app on any Android phone, but we can get around that with this free tool. The app’s creator says that it doesn’t gather any information.
Once the app is on your phone, go to Settings and look for “text to speech.” Now, click on “Text-to-speech output.” In most cases, this can be found in the Accessibility menu.
- Click on “Preferred engine” and pick the “TTSLexx” app.
- Next, hold down the Google Dialer app button on your phone and choose “App Info.” Scroll down and tap “Storage” on the App Info screen.
After that, tap “Clear data” and pick “Clear all data.” Keep in mind that this will get rid of all of your callRecod , so save a copy in case you need it again.
Finally, turn your Android phone back on. Now, use the Google Dialer (Phone) app to make a call and press “Record.” The app won’t say anything this time that the call is being taped.
If it’s still not working and saying that the call is being taped, make sure to delete the app files and remove the latest update, as we talked about in step 1.
Android phones can record calls without making the recording public.
That’s it! This is how you can stop Android phones that come with the Google Dialer app from recording your calls. Google requires OEMs to ship phones with the Google Phone and Messages app, but there are ways to get around this so you can still use the old dialer and skip the message that says “this call is now being recorded.” That’s all from us for now.
