How to Share Live Location with Someone (The Authentic Methods)

There’s no valid method to see somebody’s live location without their choosing to reveal it. Any tool or “trick” that says otherwise is a fraud, spyware or unlawful (stalkerware). Here are the genuine, above-board ways – all of which involve both parties’ cooperation.

1. Google Maps Share Your Location

1. Google Maps.
2. Tap your profile symbol.
3. Tap Location sharing.
4. “Share location” → choose a contact and time (1 hour, till you turn it off, etc.)
5. The other person receives a link or notice and must accept
6. Works both ways – you can ask for their location too, but they decide whether to disclose.

2. WhatsApp Live Location Sharing

1. Open chat → press the attachment/paperclip symbol → Location → Share Live Location
2. Duration (15 min, 1 hour, 8 hours)
3. Only works if they share it with you in that conversation actively

3. Apple Find My (iPhone)

1. Both individuals require iPhones and have to add each other in the Find My app under “People”
2. Each individual makes a request; the other has to agree
3. Once approved you may see each others whereabouts until one person stops sharing.

4. Life360 / Family Locator App

1. Great for families – everyone downloads the app and is in the same “Circle”
2. Typically used by parents with small children, or partners/friends who have both opted in
3. Requires specific setup and approval from all parties

5. Get Map With AI App

1. AI App settings → turn on location → “share with friends” or pick certain individuals
2. Fully opt-in, changeable at any moment

A Remark on Permission

All of these need the other person to actively make sharing possible. If someone won’t reveal their whereabouts with you, the honest step is to ask them and accept their response – not h unt for solutions. Apps or services that purport to find someone’s location “secretly” or “without them knowing” are nearly invariably frauds or unlawful surveillance tools, and using them on someone without their agreement may have substantial legal ramifications in most areas.
