Truecaller had a hard time getting used on iPhones for years because its best feature, live caller ID, wasn’t available on iOS. Android users could see who was calling in real time, but iPhone users had to search for names by hand after getting a call. This difference is no longer there. Truecaller announced on January 22, 2025, that iPhone users can now use its live caller ID tool.

In September 2024, Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi hinted at this change by saying that he hoped iPhone users would soon feel that the app finally does what it’s supposed to do. This update brings Truecaller more in line with iOS features, which lets the app compete with Apple’s built-in caller ID ideas.

Apple’s system suggests potential caller identities based on data from messages and emails, but Truecaller leverages its extensive global database of phone numbers and IDs for higher accuracy. With this update, iPhone users can get live caller ID, stop junk calls, and look through their recent call list of up to 2,000 numbers.
Free vs. Paid Features
All users can use the spam-blocking features around the world, but Truecaller Premium customers can only use certain features. Premium users can get live number ID without seeing ads. Free users can still use the function, but they will see ads every so often.
How to Set Up TrueCaller Caller ID on an iPhone
To use Truecaller’s caller ID tool, do the following:
- Make sure iOS 18.2 or later is installed on your iPhone.
- Get the latest version of the True coller app, at least 14.0.
- Turn On all of the True coler switches by going to Settings > Apps > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification on your iPhone.
- Open the True callr app to set it up automatically.
